Il y a 10 ans j’adorais les écrans ! Quand je voulais cuisiner, prendre une douche tranquille ou partager un super moment avec mon bout de chou il suffisait d’allumer la télé ou l’ordinateur et de regarder « le livre de la jungle « ou « Aladin » ou encore « Toy Story ».
Du bonheur en images des rires et de l’émerveillement….
Maintenant je suis en guerre contre les écrans : c’est « mon fils ma bataille » et parfois j’ai juste envie de « tout casser ».
C’est simple il « vit sa vie par procuration » devant son écran de téléphone ou d’ordinateur. A travers ses écrans il rigole, discute, échange, se fait des amis, s’énerve ou s’étonne .

Quels critères entrent en compte pour parler d’addiction ?
Selon le docteur Michel Reynaud, spécialiste en addictologie à l’hôpital de Paul Brousse, les éléments suivants doivent être réunis pour poser ce diagnostic.
- La perte de contrôle : l’ado est dépendant ? Il va sur les écrans par réflexe, habitude ?
- L’obsession : les autres activités ne l’intéressent plus ?
- Le déni : quand on lui dit que c’est anormal d’être autant sur les écrans il trouve ça stupide comme réflexion ?
D’autres symptômes peuvent également vous alerter :
- Perte ou prise de poids, marques de fatigue, syndrome du canal carpien (douleurs musculaires dans les mains)
- Abandon, perte d’intérêt pour les autres loisirs ou activités
- Déconnection de la réalité, manque de rationalité
Les signes suivants doivent aussi vous alerter : somnolence, isolement, baisse des performances scolaires, repas isolé, troubles anxieux, violence et agressivité.
En revanche bonne nouvelle ! Oui vous le savez il faut toujours voir le positif même si votre ado tout de noir vêtu, blanc comme un linge, ne vous adresse plus la parole que pour hurler enfermer dans sa chambre :

Les effets positifs des jeux vidéos
Donc la bonne nouvelle c’est que ces jeux vidéos qu’il aime tant auraient développeraient positivement certaines aptitudes : des compétences mémorielles, des stratégies de résolution, des capacités à se concentrer, prendre des décisions, innover, se concerter en groupe.
Autre bonne nouvelle : il y a des solutions pour gérer cette addiction cet amour des écrans.
On peut réglementer les heures d’écran, la connexion wi-fi, les sites fréquentés …
On peut encourager nos ados à voir leurs amis en présentiel.
On peut leur parler des dangers d’internet et des réseaux sociaux.
Mauvaise nouvelle pour vous: intéressez-vous à son monde
Il faut s’intéresser à ce qu’il regarde. Par exemple gardez le sourire pendant les 14 mn de vidéos de son youtubeur préféré (vidéo où regarde des gens se filmer en train de jouer à des jeux vidéos).

Deuxième mauvaise nouvelle: montrez l’exemple
Soyez vous-même cohérents en limitant votre usage des écrans : fini les heures illimitées sur Facebook, Instagram, Marmiton et Cosmopolitan !!! Qui a dit qu’être adulte c’était être libre ???!!!
Mais pourquoi sommes nous tous captivés par nos écrans ?
Rappelons-nous que le cerveau ne fait pas la différence entre une situation réelle et une situation imaginée.
Si on reçoit un « like », une gratification, un score positif bref tout stimulus gratifiant fait que le cerveau considère cela comme un vrai compliment, un vrai signe positif de reconnaissance (cf article sur le besoin de reconnaissance). Notre cerveau répond alors en sécrétant de la dopamine l’hormone « du plaisir, de la motivation et de l’addiction ».
Conséquence pour revivre ce « shoot » de dopamine on a envie de recommencer ! Bein quoi c’est humain non ??

Allez, on prend de bonnes résolutions : même si notre ado nous rend folle, même si on est un peu jalouse du lien fort qu’il a avec son écran on ne lâche rien : on dialogue avec lui (même si parfois ça ressemble plus à un monologue), on essaie de comprendre et de partager un peu de ses centres d’intérêt, on pose des règles (même s’il nous détestera, criera et menacera de fuguer…).
Parce qu’aimer c’est aussi poser des limites. Courage !!!
